This Privacy Policy explains how Monument & Landmark Identifier ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application on iOS or Android (the “App”). Monument & Landmark Identifier is an AI-powered companion that helps you identify places and learn about their history. AI image analysis features within the App are powered by services provided by OpenAI or DeepSeek.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use Monument & Landmark Identifier.

1. Information We Collect

• Camera and Photo Library Access: To identify landmarks, the App requests permission to access your device's camera and photo library. We access these strictly to allow you to upload or take a photo of a landmark for identification purposes.
• Landmark Image Analysis: When you upload or capture images of landmarks in the App, these images are processed solely to generate the identification and travel insights you requested. Uploaded images may be securely transmitted to OpenAI or DeepSeek for image analysis purposes only. No personal data is included or shared. Images are kept on our servers for a maximum of 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted. You also have the option to immediately delete your scan history, which immediately deletes the associated images. Your images are never used to train our AI models.
• Anonymous User ID: We support fully anonymous usage. If you do not provide personal identifying details, we create a non-identifying ID. This unique identifier allows us to remember your scan history and preferences.
• Usage Metrics: We track general interaction data, such as the features you engage with and the duration of your sessions. This data is used exclusively to enhance the app's functionality and user experience.
• Crash and Stability Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically gather reports when the App encounters a technical failure. These reports contain diagnostic data necessary for us to promptly identify and resolve bugs.
• Subscription Data: If applicable, your purchase status and entitlement information are managed by RevenueCat for verification and restoration purposes. All financial payment details are handled securely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are not accessed by us.

2. How We Use Information

• Operate and improve the App and its AI image analysis features
• Maintain anonymous sessions and provide a consistent experience
• Measure performance, fix bugs, and enhance reliability
• Process subscriptions and restore purchases
• Comply with legal obligations and protect user safety

3. Your Choices

• Camera/Photo Permissions: You can revoke camera or photo library access at any time via your device settings. Without this access, the core scanning feature will not function.
• Landmark Images: You retain full control over your scan history. You can delete your scans from within the app at any time, which also deletes the images from our temporary storage.

4. Sharing and Disclosures

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited data with:

• OpenAI or DeepSeek – solely for AI-powered image analysis of landmarks. No personal data is shared.
• Firebase (Google) – for analytics, crash reporting, and app stability.
• RevenueCat – for subscription verification and entitlement management.
• Legal Authorities – if required by law or to protect safety and integrity.

5. Data Retention

Images are retained for a maximum of 30 days. We retain anonymous usage data and crash reports according to Firebase’s standard retention schedules.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transmission, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
